Overview
R218 refrigerant (octafluoropropane, C3F8) is a colorless, odorless, non-flammable inert gas. Octafluoropropane has a melting point of-183.0 ℃ and a boiling point of-36.7 ℃, making it difficult to dissolve in water. Electronic grade high-purity octafluoropropane is used in semiconductor device manufacturing, and the mixture gas with oxygen can be used as a plasma etching gas.
In the semiconductor industry, octafluoropropane is used as a plasma etching material; in medicine, octafluoropropane can be used as fillers and ultrasound contrast agents after vitreoretinal surgery; octafluoropropane can also be used to make refrigeration mixtures.
