Refrigeration Oil
Refrigerant oil, also known as refrigeration lubricating oil, acts on the internal parts of refrigeration compressors and functions such as lubrication, sealing, cooling and energy regulation. Refrigeration oil types are divided into two categories: PAG and POE.

Refrigerant oil, also known as refrigerator oil, is a special lubricating oil used in refrigeration compressors. It not only "lubricates", but also plays a role in sealing, cooling, noise reduction, and removing impurities in the refrigeration system. The biggest difference from ordinary engine oil is that it needs to be in direct contact with refrigerant for a long time and works stably in an environment of alternating low temperature, high pressure, and high temperature.
The main functions of refrigeration oil:
1. Lubrication: Reduce friction and wear of metal parts (pistons, bearings, scrolls, etc.) inside the compressor.
2. Cooling: Remove the heat generated when the compressor is running to prevent local overheating.
3. Sealing: An oil film is formed between the piston and the cylinder and scroll plate to reduce refrigerant gas leakage and improve compression efficiency.
4. Noise reduction and buffering: The oil film absorbs vibration and reduces operating noise.
5. Remove impurities: Bring tiny metal chips, carbon deposits, etc. to the oil filter or oil separator.
1. mineral oil
It is mainly used in traditional refrigerants such as R22, R600a, etc. Low cost, but poor compatibility with new refrigerants such as R134a and R410A.
2. Synthetic oils are common:
POE oil (polyol esters): It is well compatible with R134a, R410A, R407C, R32 and other refrigerants. It is currently the most commonly used oil in inverter air conditioners and new refrigerant systems.
PAG oil (polyether): It is mainly used in automotive air conditioning R134a systems and has strong moisture absorption.
AB oil (alkylbenzene oil): Sometimes mixed with mineral oil and used in hydrocarbon refrigerant systems such as R600a and R290.
PAO oil (poly-alphaolefin): It has good chemical stability, but has average compatibility with some refrigerants and is rarely used.
