R454A refrigerant

R454A is a zero-ozone depletion potential refrigerant that achieves an excellent balance of different characteristics for industrial and commercial refrigeration systems, and serves as an ideal alternative to R22 and R404A for use in medium to low temperature commercial/industrial refrigeration systems. Can be used in new medium-and low-temperature commercial/industrial refrigeration systems specifically designed for the R404A, including supermarket systems (such as distribution systems, walk-in cold/freezers and pantry rooms), condensing units used in food services, refrigeration systems, stand-alone systems.

R454A refrigerant is an A2L low global warming potential (GWP) hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerant that achieves much larger charges than other flammable refrigerants such as R290(propane) or R600a (isobutane).

Advantages of R454A refrigerant:
1. GWP as low as 238 (94% lower than R404A)
2. Ozone depletion potential 0
3. Very close to the R404A and can be easily converted from the current design with minor adjustments
4. Improved cooling capacity and energy efficiency compared to R404A
5. Compatible with polyol ester (POE) lubricants and can be refilled after leaks
6. Classified as mildly flammable (ISO/ASHRAE level 2L)
